The Knicks found themselves down 57-56, hoping to avoid the sweep and stave off elimination at the end of the third quarter. After a back-and-forth rest of the frame, the first half would come to an end with Knicks Gaming clinging on to a 37-35 lead. Game 2 was no exception to this rule, as Pistons GT scored the first nine points of the second period to briefly take the lead. Pistons GT went on to win Game 1 with a final score of 82-71. Ramo would deliver the dagger, greening a corner three to extend the lead to 10 with a minute remaining. BRich caught fire down the stretch, scoring 14 points in the quarter on five made three pointers, while ANT contributed five points and five assists in the quarter. The Pistons clearly regrouped and refocused after the breather, getting clutch performances from their backcourt duo to thwart the comeback effort. An and-1 conversion by Type, an OriginalMalik dunk and a transition lay-in from WhatsStick in rapid succession forced a Pistons GT timeout as their lead shrunk to just five points. This game was in danger of getting out of hand, but the Knicks had other plans. Despite OriginalMalik’s Tracy McGrady-esque scoring output, Knicks Gaming couldn’t chip into the lead, losing the third quarter 21-19 to start the fourth quarter down by 12. OriginalMalik shook off the first-half cobwebs in a major way, scoring 14 in the quarter, including four deep threes. Bagmotion poured in 10 more points, converting on all four of his field goal attempts in the quarter to extend the Pistons lead to 35-27 going into the halftime break. ANT may have been pressing early on against his former Knicks teammates, going 0-for-4 from deep in the first frame. After one quarter of play, Knicks Gaming led 17-13 thanks to sharp shooting from Radiant, who nailed three from behind the arc on his way to an 11-point quarter. Game 1 of this highly anticipated best-of-three matchup between Knicks Gaming and Pistons GT began with a feverish pace, as the teams traded bucket after bucket. Pistons GT defeated Knicks Gaming 2-1 in Tuesday’s best-of-three series, advancing in Bracket Play of THE TURN, Powered by AT&T.
